Monica Williams is Vice President of Business Operations, Technology & Strategy, Business Development & Digital Distribution, where she oversees business operations, delivery and emerging technology for the Digital Distribution group at NBCUniversal. Digital Distribution is responsible for distribution and monetization of NBCU television content across digital platforms that include Video-On-Demand, Hulu, Mobile, Interactive Television and strategic efforts such as TV Everywhere, Dynamic Ad Insertion across platforms, and Interactive Television/Advanced Advertising.

In this role, Monica works with internal brands and distribution partners and manages the technology, product development and operations for all the above businesses. She was instrumental in building out the workflow and technology stack in the rollout of TV Everywhere, Dynamic Ad Insertion on set-top box, as well as clips distribution for NBCU. Monica was recently tapped to lead a metadata optimization initiative to drive more efficient content discovery and an enterprise approach to meet evolving business and product demands.

Prior to this, Monica was Director of Technical Accounts for Operations & Technical Services organization within NBCUniversal primarily servicing business clients in the Digital Media realm. Monica gained her expertise in Digital Media when she joined Universal Studios Digital Services in 2008 as Manager of Digital Media Operations. Her main responsibilities included overseeing the new media business from order management to order fulfillment, new business development, and contributing to overall corporate digital media strategy.

Monica joined NBCUniversal as a Six Sigma Black Belt for Studio Operations in 2005. In this role, she served as an in-house consultant using Six Sigma, Lean, CAP and various tools & methodologies to improve processes and generate revenue within Studio Operations. After receiving her Black Belt certification, she became Manager of Business Development for Studio Operations where she leveraged her operational knowledge of Studio Operations to develop and generate business opportunities.

Starting as an intern in GE's Early Identification (EID) program with GE Aviation in Cincinnati and after completing two intern rotations, Monica was accepted into GE's prestigious Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) with GE Aviation. While on program, she rotated through various sites across the country in Marketing, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Product Development. Upon OMLP graduation, she took a role as the Customer Service/Contract Fulfillment manager for the CF6 Platform of Engine Services West Coast Operations. She provided service for major customers such as UPS, US Air Force, Air France and Philippine Airlines.

As a founding member of Asian Pacific Americans @ NBCUniversal, one of the seven employee resource groups within NBCUniversal, Monica served time as the Southern California chapter lead as well as a lead on the national committee. She was also an active volunteer with A Window Between Worlds, a non-profit organization which uses art to heal domestic violence survivors.

A graduate of Cable Executive Management program at Harvard Business School, Multichannel News named Monica was among its “Women in Tech” in 2015. She was recognized as their Woman of the Year in the Programmer/Network category. Most recently, Monica was selected as one of Cablefax: The Magazine’s “Most Influential Minorities in Cable” for 2016.

Monica received her Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Industrial Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and her MBA in Marketing & Leadership from Claremont Graduate University, Peter Drucker School of Management. Monica is based in Los Angeles where she and her husband reside with their 2 boys (soon to be 3) Kingsley, Anderson and their beloved dog Max.
