Session: Welcome Remarks
In this role Mark is responsible for the management of a number of joint ventures and strategic development agreements with Comcast’s key vendors and industry partners. He works closely with the CTO to manage key vendor relationships and works with various industry associations including CTAM, Cable Labs, NCTA and SCTE. In addition his team leads efforts on key technology, software and IP licenses.

Prior to this, he served in key leadership roles at Comcast as VP of Digital Television, SVP of Video Product Development and SVP of Advanced Business and Technology Development for Comcast Cable. His responsibilities included leadership of the teams responsible for the development and deployment of new and enhanced video products and services on Comcast’s two-way digital network, including video on demand (VOD), digital video recorders (DVRs) and interactive television (ITV) applications.

Mark joined Comcast in 1999 as VP of Digital Television. A veteran of the cable industry, Mark began his career in 1982 with TCI, where he managed cable systems in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois and New York. He later became VP and State Manager with responsibility for all TCI systems in New York. In 1992, he was named Director of New Product Development at TCI’s corporate headquarters and worked directly on the early development of digital television. In 1994, he joined the Sega channel and helped launch that pioneering interactive television service.

Mark holds a BA in History and English from Davidson College in Davidson, NC.
