Dario Spina is the Chief Marketing Officer of Viacom Velocity, a full-service integrated marketing and creative content group. Spina leads all U.S.-led partner marketing and creative efforts for the networks within Viacom’s Global Entertainment Group (MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Spike, Logo, TV Land and CMT).

Viacom Velocity is an award-winning marketing team that develops and customizes insights-driven, branded entertainment and fan experiences for advertising partners. Spina reports to Sean Moran, Head of Marketing & Partner Solutions (Ad Sales).

Spina leads partnerships, creating and implementing marketing initiatives and convergent sponsorships on linear, digital and social. Under his direction, Velocity launched an industry-leading suite of products including Echo and Echo Social Graph, which provide a strategic approach to content creation, implementation and measurement of all social media programs for advertising partners. His team also launched Velocity Content Network, a platform that creates and executes branded content campaigns for social, including the casting social influencers.

Spina also oversees Scratch, a specialized team of cultural and strategy experts designed to drive engagement and value for partners in unique ways.

Previously, Spina served as the Executive Vice President of Integrated Marketing for the Music & Entertainment group at Viacom. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing for the Entertainment Group working with Comedy Central and Spike. Before working solely on Madison Avenue facing business, Spina was the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Spike where he led the consumer, and integrated marketing teams at the start of the channel’s formation.

He began his career at Viacom in 1999, as Director of Promotions at MTV Interactive. Before that, Spina held various positions in advertising at DDB Needham and worked in the music industry in marketing and creative at Mercury/Island Def Jam Records.

Under Spina’s leadership, the work produced by Viacom Velocity has garnered over 100+ campaign honors and has been regularly featured in Adweek, Ad Age, Variety and more over the years. Dario Spina currently serves on the Board of Directors for Shine Global, a prosocial organization that gives voices to children by telling stories of their resilience to raise awareness, promote action and inspire change. In addition, Spina also serves on the Publishing Advisory Board at Pace University.

He holds an MA from Seton Hall University and earned his undergraduate degree from Pace University.
