October 23 College Conference Features Keynote from BeachGlow: Concerts for Charity

Offers Opportunity, Direction and Inspiration to Tomorrow’s Entertainment and Media Leaders

DENVER – Unprecedented access to top digital entertainment executives. An engaging keynote speaker from one of today’s most innovative companies. Informative, idea-charged panels. Career planning and networking opportunities. Save the date for the third annual One Day Immersion in TV, Cable & Digital Entertainment collegiate conference presented by Dolly Wolf Enterprises in association with Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, on Friday, October 23 at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University in New York.

This one-day program offers unprecedented access to some of today’s most successful entertainment and media imaginative thinkers, and includes interactive panel discussions with media executives moderated by millennial fact-finders, and the chance to learn about internships and job opportunities. The full day event is free to all currently-enrolled college students, faculty and recent graduates, and will also be made available for live streaming to students across the United States and internationally. Registration for the event opens September 1, 2015.

“These students are the future of our business, both as consumers and creators,” said Evan Shapiro, executive vice president, digital enterprises, NBCUniversal, and conference co-chair. “I’m proud to take part in this terrific event that helps develop the next generation of industry leaders.”

Highlighting this year’s One Day Immersion in TV, Cable & Digital Entertainment conference is a dynamic keynote by Dane Kunkel, chief executive officer and founder of BeachGlow: Concerts for Charity, a non-profit organization that creates and produces cutting-edge music festivals to raise awareness among young adults about societal issues and causes. The day will cover a variety of informative topics ranging from An Overview of the Industry; The Disruptors: How and Why They’re Changing the Business Model; and The New Millennial Content Players, and will also include career and human resources workshops. The full program is subject to change and will be announced this summer.

“As a college student myself, I’m thrilled at this opportunity to share with my peers my personal experience of founding and running a non-profit company whose mission is all about inspiring young people – through the power of electronic music -- to give back to young people,” said BeachGlow’s CEO, Dane Kunkel.  “One Day Immersion will allow students to hear about and benefit from the challenges I’ve faced, the ups and downs, the heart aches, and the huge rewards from passionately throwing myself head-first into the entertainment industry, and combining it with doing good.”

“We are honored to partner with Dolly Wolf Enterprises for One Day Immersion, and to host this conference at the Schimmel Center for the Arts,” said Neil Braun, dean, Pace University Lubin School of Business. ”We look forward to a full day of dynamic interaction between today’s media industry leaders and tomorrow’s future executives, thought leaders and technology innovators.”
