My name is Gregory Whitman, I was born in Clearwater, Florida. I was a two-sport athlete in high school, being captain for the varsity soccer team for 3 years and place kicker on the varsity football team my Senior year. After high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. I was selected to come to Marine Barracks Washington to be part of the ceremonial and funeral detachment, taking part in high-visibility ceremonies in the Capital region for the President of the United States and multiple foreign heads of state. After my service in our nation’s capital, I received orders to 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, California. While with 1/1, I had the opportunity to deploy overseas as a squad leader and gain valuable leadership experience that continues to benefit me today. Serving in the military has helped me earn an opportunity to further my education, which I am beginning as a freshman at Northern Virginia Community College. My major at NOVA is Business Administration and I am going to transfer to George Mason University to complete my degree with a BS in Marketing and minor in Economics. I am excited to attend ODI to gain a better understanding of the corporate workplace and hear first-hand from current executives how the marketing industry operates in today’s market.
